You get some different choices for your visa for Indonesia. You come along to think well ahead how long you choose to stay in Indonesia, next you can make up your mind which visa you prefer.
In June 2015, Indonesia relaxed the visa regulations. This makes it available for 30 nationalities - including Dutch and Belgians - to obtain a free visa for thirty days.
Before you could get a Visa On Arrival on arrival. You had to pay this in cash, typically after standing in line for a some time. This is therefore no longer required! (* if you meet the conditions below). You will now get a free Indonesia visa for thirty days. However, this is no more extendable in the area, so within 30 days you really will have to leave the country.
If you choose to stay more than 30 days you can buy a Visa On Arrival upon arrival, this can be extended once more for 30 days.
Rules free visa
There are a few rules for the visa exemption for Indonesia:
Like any country, you must have a passport that is valid for at least another 6 months.
You must have clear proof that you will leave Indonesia within thirty days. A return ticket or transit ticket that falls within thirty days suffices for this.
This only applies to travellers. So not if you are wanting to do an internship there. Even if you go on family visits and stay overnight where you are not eligible.
You are only eligible for a visa waiver if you enter the country through one of the assigned corridor gates. These were first only a few airports and ports, but now it is available for almost every big airport. Certainly the better-known airports.
Stay in Indonesia for beyond Thirty Days.
If you really want to travel more than Thirty Days through Indonesia, you have 2 alternatives. Choice 1 is to buy a VOA . Where the free visa is only available at the above access ports, you can buy a Visa On Arrival at almost every access point in Indonesia.
A Visa On Arrival charges you $ 35 for 30 days. These 30 days can be extended once for another thirty days so you can stay in Indonesia for sixty days. Expanding your visa is done at some of the immigration offices. These can be found in common destinations such as Yogyakarta and Bali.
The other, a more accessible solution is to apply for a tourist visa before you leave. You can do this online, but it is easy. In Indonesia, you also do not lose time visiting an immigration office. You can apply for your visa in Indonesia via the Dutch E-Visa, a competent party with a lot of knowledge.
You pay out a fine of 300,000 Indonesian Rupiah per day that you stay in the country for longer than your visa allows. Staying a few days longer is not a problem as long as you pay the fine. Nonetheless, a longer overstay of your visa in Indonesia is not advised, anyway, it is still a crime.
Apply for a visa in advance
If you know in advance that you prefer to stay in Indonesia for beyond Thirty Days, it may be useful to get your visa in the Netherlands. You can get different visas at the Indonesian Embassy.
For example, you can apply for a visa for sixty days or a visa for a longer period if you wish to work or study in Indonesia Do not forget to bring the usual things, just like your passport, printed information about your flight ticket and a passport photo. A more worry-free - but just a little more expensive - alternative is to use a visa agent.
Business Visa Indonesia.
Another good alternative is to make an application for Business Visa.
Business Visa for Bali is a multiple-entry visa, meaning that it will allow you get in or out of Indonesia for as much as you may need. However, something to be considered, Business Visa only allows you to stay maximum for 60 days per visit.
